Andrew Thornton
Andrew has been writing about video games for nearly twenty years, contributing to publications such as DarkStation, Games Are Fun, and the E-mpire Ltd. network. He enjoys most genres but is always pulled back to classic RPG's, with his favorite games ever including Suikoden II, Panzer Dragoon Saga, and Phantasy Star IV. Don't worry though, he thinks new games are cool too, with more recent favorites like Hades, Rocket League, and Splatoon 2 stealing hundreds of hours of his life. When he isn't playing games he's often watching classic movies, catching a basketball game, or reading the first twenty pages of a book before getting busy and forgetting about it.

Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave Review: A Joyous Mess Of A Game Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave may be the longest game I’ve ever played, yet it still feels incredibly incomplete. Despite taking me over 100 hours to finish, I came away from its story with more questions than answers, and…

While I didn’t find its story particularly compelling and a few missions don’t work, Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve is still a thrilling adventure because piloting these planes feels incredible. There aren’t many games released in 2026 that feel better on a moment-to-moment basis.

Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter Review: An Excellent Conclusion In my review of Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, I made it clear that the original versions of these games are some of my favorite RPGs of all time. I adore their characters, their world, and their combat,…

Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion Review (Switch 2)

Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion Review: A Good Update That Can’t Fully Escape Its Source Material Crisis Core is a weird game to play for the first time in 2026. Originally released in 2007 on the PSP, this prequel to Final Fantasy VII seeks to add to the…

Control Resonant Review (PS5)

Control Resonant Review: A Risky Triumph The large majority of video game sequels play it safe. They take what worked in the original, iterate on a few issues, fix the first title’s problems, and maybe add a couple of minor new mechanics. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. There’s…
