Receiver on Steam. I can never beat the game, but I keep playing to see how far I can get in a run. The amount of detail that’s put into the game that was only made in seven days that puts you into control of the majority of the mechanics of a gun in first person. In most games? Press R to reload.

    Lol no.

Press E to pop out the magazine, press to put your gun away, press Z to load rounds into the magazine in hand, press to get your gun back, press Z to reload the magazine into the gun, and press R to pull back the slide to inject a round into the barrel. Doing all this while in the midst of only needing to take one hit and you’re dead.

I’ve been playing it more since I’ve got my external graphics setup running, and I hate myself for it because I hate the game but I keep coming back.

Oh, and Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus. Hey, it’s got a pretty good combat system. Boobs and butts come next.

I can’t deny it – I’m a sucker for the Senran Kagura and Neptunia games as well. I’m not nuts for cheeky fan service, but as beat ’em ups and lighthearted RPGs both of those series are satisfying in their own ways.

On that note, gonna be picking up Valkyrie Drive when it releases next month? We’re anxiously awaiting our review code’s arrival next week.

    Absolutely NSFW trailer warning:

Eh. I’m kinda picky on what I play. If it pops up in a Humble sale or bundle, I might pick it up to mess around with. I still have several games on my list to actually finish and not dawdle around.

Hey, I can’t help that they made a commercial that was clever enough to stick to me to buy the game and enjoyed it.

I tinker with computer electronics and stick things where they mostly don’t belong. Like desktop graphics cards on laptops. Don’t judge me.
Sticking things where they don't belong.

A more modern commercial, but the song is stuck in my head. It’s so inappropriate for what was being portrayed, but hilarious.

I guess it could be called “DLC”? December 2011 according to Steam I bought Borderlands GOTY. Though, that includes the DLC. October of 2012 I bought the Season Pass for Borderlands 2, which would be an actual dedicated purchase for DLC that doesn’t include the game.

    Uuuuuugh, now I need to redownload Origin to download Mercs 2. ;A;

People still use Origin? 😀 That has been my “Oh shit, EA is giving away a Command & Conquer bundle again” service for the past few years now.

I haven’t used it in so long that my email was removed from my local college’s server that I had to contact EA to get my email changed.

And no. Only reason why I have an Origin account is for Mercs 2, and when they had a HumbleBundle for a gob load of games for $5. If Mercs 2 was on Steam, I’d drop and forget about Origin completely. Again. I actually forgot they existed until I saw this post on Mercs 2.

Doesn’t help that 4K Blu-Ray won’t be available for the PS4 Pro. With that said, there was rumor that there would be a “patch” to fix this in the future on various news sites. To run 4K Blu-Ray, you’d need an optical drive that can run it. A normal Blu-ray drive won’t cut it. Though with video streaming becoming more and more the norm with Netflix, Hulu, Youtube, not as many users will be going for physical media. While there will still be a demand for it, it won’t be as common place as seeing someone on their phone streaming the latest movie.

^^^ The lack of 4K Blu-Ray is definitely one of the things that’s turning me off the most. How the hell can you make a console focused around 4K output and not even champion your own HD format? The PS4 is supposed to be the new flagship console, and Sony dropping the ball with 4K BD support is a huge misstep for them.

I think the main problem is that users will buy just a PS4 Pro and not buy a UHD Blu-ray player when its released in spring. If I recall, that happened with the PS3 and Blu-ray when it came out. Their players weren’t selling as well as they thought because everyone was buying a PS3 for about the same price that could play games and play blu-ray.

    One Must Fall 2097

    Seek & Destroy

Not often I see a pair of games pop up that fly under my radar. Which platforms are they for? We might have to check them out and cover them after all.

Both are for DOS. Each one should have a link to Mobygames on them.

“But what about 4K gaming?” All in the GPU. Just like a PC.
“But then that means you can watch 4K blu-ray” Yeeeeeeees, but you still need an optical drive that can support it. Just like you can’t run a DVD in a classic 90’s CD drive. Yes they’re the same form factor, but internally they’re different. MUCH different.

The only way this will change is if last minute Sony decides to install their UHD/4K blu-ray drives into the PS4 Pro (Which at the moment, the UHD player they have is slotted for release sometime in spring of 2017. Don’t be surprised if there’ll be a PS4 Pro Slim w/ UHD Blu-Ray in a few months, or even the announcement of the PS5.

On the gaming side, I’m sure that things will proceed as normal for the PS4, while VR being more emphasized for the PS4 Pro due to its improved GPU. I’m still rather confused if VR will be available for the PS4/Slim since the hardware is a tad subpar. Otherwise in normal games, I’m assuming they’ll allow games to be cross-platform between the PS4/Slim and Pro, with a toggle internally that detects what system the game is in to switch between 1080p and 4K. Either that, or a UHD download of textures, like how Battlefield did on the Xbox 360 – by way of saving money on needing two DVDs. (I don’t know if that existed on the PS3. Only had a 360.) This is speculation, however.

PC : Warframe, Starbound, Metal Gear Solid V : The Phantom Pain, Rise of the Tomb Raider, 20XX, Receiver, Fistful of Gun, Contraption Maker

3DS : Monster Hunter Generations, Nintendogs + Cats

Mainly on PC I’ve been dabbling with an external graphics card and pushing its limits. Still waiting on a few parts to make things easier in the end, but eh.

VR’s always been pretty hit-and-miss with me. While a lot of things in the media make VR seem like a really neat idea (and I honestly think that it is), I’m still not completely sold on it. With that being said, I’m not sure what exactly would sell me on a VR peripheral or system… I’m sure that there’s something, though. I like PlayStation a lot, but I think that I’ll pass on PSVR unless it becomes obscenely inexpensive sometime in the distant future.

That’s the problem. It’s not the hardware that would sell, it’s the experience. You need to experience it first hand to get a taste of it before you could think of setting down the money to buy it. If Sony or HTC/Valve were to set up demo stations at brick and mortar stores, I’m sure they’d be picking up a lot of revenue, even if it’s only for a few months.

A good PC, mid-range Android phone/tablet, A home-brewed PSP-1000/2000, Nextthing Co’s C.H.I.P. (Not so much for 3D rendering at the moment. Do some research as it runs ARM based Debian Linux) … the only ones I can think of off the top of my head that I’ve tinkered with. The Hyperkin Retron appears to be an “okay” choice if you wanted to use original cartridges for NES, SNES, Genesis, Famicom, and even GB(C)/GBA games. Can even use a SNES, NES, or Genesis controller with it in lieu of the in-box controller. Just uh, no light guns, since it’s running using HDMI.
