I’ve been in a Funeral Suits mood lately. They’re just infectiously catchy, and their videos are fantastic.

So, what are you guys listening to?

I like me some good electronica, and there’s an artist I’ve occasionally enjoyed by the name of Porter Robinson. The good mister Robinson just put out a new album a couple weeks ago, called Worlds, and I have fallen deeply in love with it. Like, I think this is my album of the year. This has been a really interesting year for electronica, with the trend moving away from heavy dubstep influence and more into the realm of toying with vocals in interesting ways, and this album does that really damn well. Here are my two current favorites from Worlds.

I’ve been binging on quite a bit of Retrowave lately. I discovered Dance With the Dead a few weeks ago and I’m surprised they flew under my radar for so long, because they’re simply fantastic.

Cryogenic Echelon has been my obsession lately. An Australian act that mixes EBM, EDM, trap, drum ‘n’ bass, trance, dubstep, and a whole load more. Sadly, it’s officially a dead project as the guy behind it has moved onto other things.

Three tracks in particular that I enjoy:

I have been listening to a lot of Vaporwave lately. It’s Retrowave/Synthwave’s younger, more pretentious little brother! Imagine dreaming of your Mom taking you to a glitzy mall in the nineties as a child and being overloaded by the colorful ambient commercialism of it all. That’s pretty much Vaporwave in a nutshell.
