Kenny McKee

Starting out with nothing more than a Game Boy and a copy of Donkey Kong Land, Kenny has happily been gaming for almost his entire life. Easily-excitable and a bit on the chatty side, Kenny has always been eager to share gaming-related thoughts, opinions, and news with others and has been doing so on Hey Poor Player since 2014 and has previously worked with both PKMNcast and SCATcast. Although his taste in gaming spreads across a wide number of companies and consoles, Kenny holds a particular fondness for Nintendo handheld consoles. He is also very proud of his amiibo collection. You can also find him on Twitter @SuperBayleef talking about video games and general nonsense. Some of his favorite games include Tetris Attack, Pokémon Black Version 2, The World Ends With You, Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, Yo-kai Watch, Donkey Kong Country 2, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, Kirby's Dreamland 3, Mega Man X, and Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia (among many others).

Corpse Party 2: Dead Patient Review (PC)

This Sure Isn’t Heavenly Host     Corpse Party 2: Dead Patient is in a rather curious predicament in that, much like its own name, I’m not even sure if it’s alive at this point. I know that that might sound a little harsh, but I promise that I didn’t…

Disgaea 4 Complete+ Review (PS4)

Nothing Fishy Here!     Nippon Ichi Software has done pretty well when it comes to pampering both the latest (and arguably greatest) Disgaea title, Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance, and the game that got the zany, Prinny-filled series started, Disgaea: Hour of Darkness. Unfortunately, for quite some time, NIS seemed to be…

Conception PLUS: Maidens of the Twelve Stars Review (PS4)

Talk About a Baby Boom!     The release Conception PLUS: Maidens of the Twelve Stars, like the (questionably) immaculate conception it utilizes, is something that showed up before I even realized what was happening, and most definitely surprised me upon its arrival. Having released exclusively in Japan all…

Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness and the Secret Hideout Review (Switch)

Shining Brightly in the Darkness     I knew two primary things about Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & The Secret Hideout before going into it. The first was that GUST really seemed to be pushing this game more than usual, most likely due to their claims of having overhauled…

Mary Skelter 2 Review (Switch)

Helter-er Skelter-er     I remember playing Mary Skelter: Nightmares on the Vita a few years back (and for a review, no less!). I remember thinking that it was pretty good—especially concept-wise—but I also recall feeling as though it got a little stale at times; like it could have been better…

Corpse Party: Blood Drive Review (PC)

Keeping it All in the Family (Sorta)     Let’s start this review by ripping off the bandage straight away; Corpse Party: Blood Drive wasn’t my favorite entry in the series. No, I don’t think it’s objectively bad (if I did, I wouldn’t be trying to sugar-coat things so much),…
