Kenny McKee

Starting out with nothing more than a Game Boy and a copy of Donkey Kong Land, Kenny has happily been gaming for almost his entire life. Easily-excitable and a bit on the chatty side, Kenny has always been eager to share gaming-related thoughts, opinions, and news with others and has been doing so on Hey Poor Player since 2014 and has previously worked with both PKMNcast and SCATcast. Although his taste in gaming spreads across a wide number of companies and consoles, Kenny holds a particular fondness for Nintendo handheld consoles. He is also very proud of his amiibo collection. You can also find him on Twitter @SuperBayleef talking about video games and general nonsense. Some of his favorite games include Tetris Attack, Pokémon Black Version 2, The World Ends With You, Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, Yo-kai Watch, Donkey Kong Country 2, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, Kirby's Dreamland 3, Mega Man X, and Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia (among many others).

The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III Review (PS4)

A Real Class (VII) Reunion     So I’m going to start this review with a little confession. The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III? You know, the sequel that we’ve been waiting forever to get localized and the game that I’m literally reviewing right now? Yeah, well,…

Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden – Deluxe Edition Review (Switch)

The Road Less Traveled     Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden is a great example of how just a little dash of something extra is all it takes to create an entirely new experience. Sure, you’ve played SRPGs, and, sure, you’ve played real-time stealth games, but have you…

Utawarerumono: ZAN Review (PS4)

Little Deception, Lots of Action     Utawarerumono: ZAN is an interesting little number. A re-telling of a previous game within the franchise, Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception, ZAN not only gives players a new take on an integral part of the Utawarerumono storyline, but does so while entirely switching game genres. As…

Wargroove Review (PS4)

Advance Swords     A lot of people jumped onto the Wargroove bandwagon when it was first announced. I was no exception. A spiritual successor to the Advance Wars franchise that not only mimics it in terms of gameplay but graphically as well? How could you call yourself an Advance Wars fan and not be hyped…

London Detective Mysteria Review (PC)

The Wonderful World of Miss Whiteley     This review of London Detective Mysteria isn’t my first go-around with the game. Before releasing on the PC, the game enjoyed a period of Vita exclusivity — and it was there that I first enjoyed it. Because of that, the game, and its many…

Date A Live: Rio Reincarnation Review (PS4)

Girls, Girls, Girls!     The Date A Live franchise has been going strong for almost a decade now. However, if you’ve been living outside of Japan, you might not realize that to be the case. Sure, we’ve gotten the anime adaptation, and… actually, I think that’s about all we’ve gotten.…
