Kenny McKee

Starting out with nothing more than a Game Boy and a copy of Donkey Kong Land, Kenny has happily been gaming for almost his entire life. Easily-excitable and a bit on the chatty side, Kenny has always been eager to share gaming-related thoughts, opinions, and news with others and has been doing so on Hey Poor Player since 2014 and has previously worked with both PKMNcast and SCATcast. Although his taste in gaming spreads across a wide number of companies and consoles, Kenny holds a particular fondness for Nintendo handheld consoles. He is also very proud of his amiibo collection. You can also find him on Twitter @SuperBayleef talking about video games and general nonsense. Some of his favorite games include Tetris Attack, Pokémon Black Version 2, The World Ends With You, Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, Yo-kai Watch, Donkey Kong Country 2, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, Kirby's Dreamland 3, Mega Man X, and Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia (among many others).

She Remembered Caterpillars Review (Switch)

Broken Dreams, Fractured Reality     It’s been a while since I’ve last played a game like She Remembers Caterpillars. From its simplistic-yet-deep gameplay to its atmospheric presence, to its artistic-yet-melancholy story, almost every aspect about this game is smart, yet slightly pretentious in the same kind of “video games…

Air Conflicts: Secret Wars Review (Switch)

Shaky, but Serviceable     Air Conflicts: Secret Wars is okay. I know, I know, that’s literally the most milquetoast, noncommittal way to describe a game, but there’s really not any other way for me to describe it in an honest way. It’s certainly not a bad game. The gameplay was fine, I…

Corpse Party: Sweet Sachiko’s Hysteric Birthday Bash Review (PC)

Hauntingly Hilarious     Well, Team GrisGris, you did it. I didn’t think that legitimate comedic horror existed. I’ve seen comedic games and movies that parody the horror genre. And I’ve seen and played good horror films and games that aren’t afraid (no pun intended) to occasionally crack a…

Yoshi’s Crafted World Review (Switch)

Made with Love     I’m going to begin this review by answering a question that I’m sure that a lot of you have had on your minds when it comes to this game; no, Yoshi’s Crafted World is not the “true” Yoshi’s Island sequel that we’ve been looking for. I’m not sure…

Senran Kagura Peach Ball Brings Alluring Arcade Antics to Switch this Summer

Time to go full tilt     Remember when Senran Kagura Peach Ball released for the Nintendo Switch? Probably not, because it’s currently exclusive to Japan. Fortunately for you Western Senran Kagura fans, however, XSEED has confirmed that all of that is about to change, because Peach Ball will be hitting North America…
