How to Open the Owl Container in Signalis

Here’s How to Open the Owl Container in Signalis

In this guide, we’ll be taking a look at a somewhat lengthier puzzle for Signalis. A bit later in the game, you’ll come across a single Falke unit lying peacefully in bed, holding a strange, hexagonal container in the guise of an owl. There’s a bit of a puzzle to solving how to open this one, so let’s dig in.

I want to preface this whole guide by saying that you will need to have the Paternoster Elevator online to do this puzzle. If you need a guide for that, we have one here. You’ll also need to get the Flashlight, which is in the ADLR Bedroom, pictured below.

No fancy puzzles or keycards, just pluck the flashlight when you’ve got the chance.

From the Paternoster Elevator on the AEON Facility S-23 floor, you’ll want to head into the room just to the left of where you get off the elevator, called the FKLR Office.

Head next to the north door, and you’ll see a shutter gate handle you can pull off the door frame.

You’re going to want to take this up to the Piano Hallway (you can see it marked as Rolling Shutter Gate on the map below).

It’s pretty simple to get up there, from the FLKR Office, go to the Patermoster Elevator and ride it up a floor. From there, go to the rightmost of that room and take the door on the north wall.

You’ll be right next to where the bar goes. You’ll unlock the door just like normal, walk up to it and interact to automatically use the shutter crank. In here, you’ll grab the Owl Key. That key is meant to be used on the floor above. You can either use the Patemoster Elevator or the Flood Overflow room to get up a floor. The room you’re looking for is in the North Hallway of B6, rightmost door on the north wall (yellow door in the image below).

Once inside this room, you can pick up a cassette on the north counter.

Now, where we’re going from here will definitely require the flashlight. If you haven’t grabbed it already, it’s in the ADLR Room on the AEON Facility floor, toward the north of the floor. There’s a picture for it earlier in the guide.

Next, you’ll be heading to the Repair Bay, which is connected to the Cleaning Room.

Make sure you have the flashlight equipped to navigate this room. There’ll be two enemies, one standing near the door, another will pop out of the floor. When the coast is clear, head into the room to the north.

You’ll now be in the Shooting Range, where you can find a roll of tape on the right table.

Grab that, then combine it with the cassette you got from earlier. We’ll need that to get our desired frequency. From here, we have a couple of other pieces of the puzzle, the next one requiring us to get a key for a certain Painting. I’ll explain later, for now, go to the Protektor Office on floor B7, and don’t forget your flashlight.

Once here, head to the room to the north, and be mindful of the enemies. The key you want is on the desk to the right.

Grab that key, now we need to head to the Painting Room. This is a pretty straightforward walk through the Dining Room Hallway, the Piano Hallway, and then the North Hallway, where the room you want will be the middlemost room on the north wall.

You’ll head in there and interact with the painting on the north wall, using the key on it to unlock a little area to get a keycard for the Workshop.

The Workshop is on the floor above you, on floor B6, as shown below.

My advice would be to use the Paternoster Elevator to get to the right floor; it’s a few less rooms you have to go to. Once you’re in the workshop, you’ll see some equipment in the back of the room. Put the cassette in there. The number on the display will tell you what frequency the recording is on.

Now to head back to the owl container the Falke unit has. You can use the Paternoster Elevator to get to the AEON Facility floor, then return to the FLKR unit. Make sure to turn your transmitter to the correct frequency from earlier that you saw on the cassette equipment. That will pop open the container, giving you the Hummingbird Key. That’s all you need for this puzzle, but stay tuned for more news and guides for Signalis!
