Fire Emblem Engage Transports Old Heroes Into A New Adventure Next Year

Arriving next January, Fire Emblem Engage summons classic heroes into a brand-new adventure

Fire Emblem Engage

Announced during today’s Nintendo Direct broadcast, Fire Emblem Engage will arrive on the Switch next January.

The latest entry in Nintendo and Intelligent Systems’ long-running SRPG series, Fire Emblem Engage looks to be an all-new adventure, rather than a direct follow-up to 2019’s Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Set in the world of Elyos, it stars a new two-tone-haired protagonist destined to combat an ancient threat.

From what we’ve seen so far, Fire Emblem Engage looks to feature vastly improved visuals over the previous game, with richly detailed character models battling across some impressive backdrops. Another noteworthy feature is the new summoning ability, which allows you to use certain items to call forth fan-favorite Fire Emblem characters, including Marth and Celica.

You can find the full announcement trailer below, offering a good look at both the game’s free-roaming exploration segments and high-stakes battles:

Those itching to wage war won’t have to wait too much longer. Fire Emblem Engage will release for the Nintendo Switch on January 20, 2023.
