Nintendo Download for 9/8/22

Nintendo Download | BPM

Well guys and gals, I can hardly believe it’s time for another Nintendo Download! Just a few short days ago I was consumed by the whirlwind insanity of PAX West. But now that it’s over, I can focus more on other things, and the Nintendo Download for 9/8/22 is a great thing to focus on. Not only is Splatoon 3 just around the corner, but there’s a couple other noteworthy featured titles, a special publisher sale and the usual digital entertainment to keep us busy and our wallets empty. Let’s start with the latest entry in the crazy popular team-based shooter on Nintendo consoles.

Splat it Up!

Nintendo Download | Splatoon 3

I’m still amazed we’re getting a Splatoon 3. After all, the first game was risky venture, but it worked so darned well I guess it’s understandable it’s lasted for this long. While I wasn’t able to play the preview event for the game, I’m very much looking forward to picking up my physical copy of the game tomorrow. It looks to do everything the series is revered for, plus a few exciting new ideas like the card game. But that’s not all for this week’s Nintendo Download. You can also try the quirky rogue-lite platformer Tower Princess. Or if you prefer lovingly crafted Metroidvanias, you can finally pick up Haiku, the Robot on Switch tomorrow. That’s a great start, but let’s continue with that aforementioned NIS America sale.

One of the things I appreciate about NISA is that they regularly have pretty substantial sales, which makes it easy to enjoy their library of games if you missed out. The NIS America End of Summer 2022 Sale has some pretty hefty discounts, up to 90% off. If you love those sorts of savings, then act quickly, since the sale ends on 9/18. Here’s a snapshot of some games you absolutely need to check out – The Cruel King and the Great Hero, Crystar, Destiny Connect, Disgaea 4 Complete, Kemono Heroes, La-Mulana 2, Langrisser I & II, Lapis x Labyrinth, The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince, The Lost Child, Mad Rat Dead, Poison Control, Psikyo Shooting Stars Alpha and Bravo, R-Type Final 2, RPG Maker MV, The Silver Case 2425, Trails of Cold Steel III, World’s End Club and Yomawari: The Long Night Collection. That’s hardly a comprehensive list, but it’s a great start. To see the entire list of discounted games, just click here.

What, you didn’t think that was the end of the sales? Nope, now it’s time for Game Guide fun! If you want to shoot ’em up, try Strike Buster Prototype for $5.94. To scale an endless tower, try TOKOYO: Tower of Perpetuity for $9.59. Or for silly platforming, try Wife Quest for $5.99. To help a mother save her children, try Macrotis for $5.99. And to become a heroic waterfowl, try Mighty Goose for $9.99.

Nintendo Download | To Leave

Before we head out, here’s some digital offerings to check out. If you want to get your retro on, try Radical Rex. For a frenetic Shmup, there’s Game Type DX. Fans of games with story can try these – Svoboda 1945: Liberation, The Hand of Glory, To Leave and White Day: A Labyrinth Named School. For a crazy mix of FPS and bullet hell, try BPM: Bullets Per Minute. To try some action packed titles, there’s the following – Chenso Club, Skycadia, The Last Run: Dead Zombie Shooter and Wind of Shuriken. Metroidvania fans might enjoy the oddly titled Catmaze. Fans of running like crazy might try Little Orpheus. To try your hand at the latest Voice of Cards DLC, there’s The Beasts of Burden. And to play a heroic roomba fighting for their family, try JUSTICE SUCKS!
