Celebrate the Rainbow Next Month

We live in strange times. The planet is literally on fire, institutions are fraught with stresses unimagined, and those empowered with great authority often abuse it. So it seems more important now than ever to talk about LGBTQ+ pride, and the communities that organize around it. After all, people still matter, no matter how different we may be from one another. And given the shocking turns in the United States, it feels like a duty to remind folks that there’s things worth fighting for.

Okay, now that I’m off my soapbox, let’s talk about the 4th Annual Season of Pride. Hosted by MidBoss, it’s a month long event celebrating LGBTQ+ games and gamers. Things begin on July 9th, and there will also be both an eShop and Steam sale and charity streams until the end of the month. Some of the participating games include the following – Arcade Spirits: The New Challengers, Steven Universe: Unleash the Light, Sword of the Necromancer and much more. As for some of the companies involved, those include the likes of Annapurna Interactive, Devolver Digital and Green Man Gaming.

As for the hosts of Season of Pride, here’s an important snippet:

MidBoss, developer and publisher of LGBTQ-themed titles like 2064: Read Only Memories and Kitsune Tails, organized the event, and will livestream and re-host partnered streamers on the MidBoss Twitch Channel throughout the month. Season of Pride 2022 aims to build on the success of Season of Pride 2021, which raised just under $30,000 for charity, and amassed more than 21 years of viewership of LGBTQ+ streamers and games.
