Blanc Brings Hand Drawn Emotion To Switch And PC

Unlikely Friends

While definitely not the sort of game we’re used to seeing Gearbox publish, Blanc was one of the games that grabbed my attention during today’s Nintendo Direct Mini. In Blanc, you’ll play as a wolf cub and a fawn who have been separated from their families following a great snowstorm. Only by working together can they hope to make their way home.

Cooperation will be required as well, because this is a two player only title, though you can play either locally or online. The wolf cub is small and can get into tight spaces while the fawn can jump further and climb. Together they’ll be able to overcome the obstacles before them.

Blanc is completely text free, letting the visuals carry the storytelling. This looks like a great decision to me because it is a striking title, hand drawn and in black and white.

I know I’m looking to this adorable looking game. Blanc will launch in February 2023 for both Nintendo Switch and PC.

He enjoys most genres but is always pulled back to classic RPG's, with his favorite games ever including Suikoden II, Panzer Dragoon Saga, and Phantasy Star IV. Don't worry though, he thinks new games are cool too, with more recent favorites like Hades, Rocket League, and Splatoon 2 stealing hundreds of hours of his life. When he isn't playing games he's often watching classic movies, catching a basketball game, or reading the first twenty pages of a book before getting busy and forgetting about it.
