Back From The Dead
Diablo is in the news right now thanks to the recent release of Diablo Immortal, but that hasn’t distracted fans from the real prize. Diablo IV is still on the way and the team at Activision Blizzard today revealed it is coming in 2023. We got a lot more details than that though.
The fifth and final class in Diablo IV will be the necromancer. These summoners use the undead to fight their way through the hordes of enemies you’ll face. The necromancer joins the barbarian, sorceress, druid, and rogue to round out the core classes in the game.
That’s just the start of what we learned today though. Crossplay will be a big deal and allow players to bring characters of different levels and points in the story together to make progress and be rewarded for doing so.
A lot of focus is being put on the game’s endgame as well. A new system called the Tree of Whispers will offer players a never ending cycle of objectives after completing the game while nightmare dungeons are designed to keep the difficulty climbing and players engaged. The development team described the end of the story as just the start of the game and that definitely seems to be the goal.
There’s a lot more to be excited about when it comes to Diablo IV. We’ll be looking forward to it next year. Check out the latest trailer below.
