Zenless Zone Zero Cranks Up The Heat in Hot New Gameplay Trailer
We’ve been eagerly awaiting HoYoverse’s new action RPG game, taking close looks at the first trailer and debut website, but here we are at the Summer Game Fest, and we’re getting a whole trailer focusing mainly on the combat. The slick, in-and-out action is looking just as sharp and fluid as Genshin Impact and Honkai Impact 3rd before it. This particular trailer focuses mainly on a girl with a single, fire-spewing blade and one chunky-looking backpack, followed by a giant bear with a cannon made of rebar and concrete, and a guy with thrusters on his legs. If we have gotten your attention with all of that, you should absolutely check out the premise and trailer below.
Zenless Zone Zero focuses on a large city expanse called New Eridu City, where things called Hollows plague the residents. They’re giant black hole-esque orbs that’ll appear out of nowhere, causing strange monsters called Ethereal to spawn inside them. The characters you all play as, while heralding from different factions, all have one main goal in fishing around these apocalypse bubbles: Get in, get the mission done, and loot what you can from the strange creatures inside. While there are creatures, raiders, and insane bandits alike in these hellscapes, you’ll be working with more-than-capable party members, each with their own fighting styles. From buzzsaws on a stick to frost-powered katanas, there’s no shortage of ways to get the job done. With vivid characters like the ones shown off in the trailer, you can bet this will be quite a high-speed romp through the deep cityscape. While the jury’s still out on whether or not Zenless Zone Zero will feature gacha mechanics like its predecessors, there’s been a tasty rumor going around that HoYoverse might be playing with procedural generation for the missions.
