This Wasn’t On My Bingo Card
Anyone playing a lot of games in the early to mid 90s remembers Flashback. It was hard to escape, eventually releasing on just about every platform that could possibly handle it. Later this year though we’ll be able check out the surprising return of Conrad B. Hart in Flashback 2.
From the sounds of the plot description, the developers don’t seem to be ignoring the sequel to Flashback that came out in the 90s, Fade to Black, but apparently they decided Flashback 2 worked better than calling this Flashback 3, making people wonder what happened to the second game. You’ll still be fighting the Morphs from the earlier titles though and this first look gameplay trailer should leave fans of the series feeling right at home.
Members of the development team for the original game, such as game designer Thierry Perreau and composer Raphaël Gesqua are involved as well, making this feel not quite as disconnected from the past as it might otherwise be. Motion capture has also taken place, to make Conrad feel as realistic as possible and honor the series’ history as a groundbreaking title for animation. Flashback 2 is set to hit PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in 2022 with a Switch release set for 2023.
