I’ve been waiting for this moment for a while. Now we can announce on behalf of Thunderful and Carry Castle that Lovecraftian adventure Source of Madness is finally out! Better yet, it’s not just on PC. It’s also available on pretty much every console possible for only $19.99, including Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Series X|S. And while it’s not news that the game is out today, it’s still a great day for fans of horror and rogue-like action.

If you’ve been living under a rock and haven’t heard of Source of Madness yet, here’s a quick recap:

Take on the role of an acolyte in an alternate reality controlled by cosmic entities. These worlds warp and distort each day, leaving the Loam Lands unpredictably terraformed and inhabited by grotesque beings of celestial origins. To get to the source of this unknowable evil, your voyage will take you across nine biomes, from the depths of Dungeon of Forgotten Knowledge, the eerie landscape of the Forest of Lies, to the grand non-euclidean citadel R’Lyeh, all the way up to celestial bodies on the rims of the universe.

Each and every run will be different, with ever shifting landscapes and monsters that learn from how you play. I honestly think this game is perfectly suited for portable play on the Nintendo Switch, but I’m sure it’ll be fun regardless of console. Be sure and watch the trailer below. And stay tuned to HPP for more terrifying games from Thunderful!
