Game Pass Shows Its True Colors This April

Sometimes Life Really Is Strange

True Colors

Microsoft today announced the first batch of Game Pass titles for April and there are a few heavy hitters, headlined by the latest title in the Life is Strange series, True Colors. I was a big fan of this one when it released last year and would heavily recommend it to players who can check it out for no additional cost. Let’s see what else is coming to the service over the next few weeks.

Cricket 22 (Cloud, Console) – Available Now

MLB The Show 22 (Cloud, Console) – Available Now

Chinatown Detective Agency (Cloud, Console, PC) – April 7th

Dragon Age 2 (Cloud) – April 7th

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare (Cloud) – April 7th

True Colors

Star Wars: Squadrons (Cloud) – April 7th

Life is Strange: True Colors (Cloud, Console, PC) – April 12th (Our Review)

Panzer Corps 2 (PC) – April 12th

The Dungeon of Naheulbeuk (PC) – April 12th (Our Review)

Lost in Random (Cloud, Console, PC) – April 14th

True Colors

There’s some real variety here. If you’re a sports fan, MLB The Show coming to Xbox and Game Pass for the second year in a row is definitely strange but also welcome. Or if you want something a little more out there you can always go with Cricket 22. I’ve never played a Cricket game but suddenly have a strange desire to do so.

Chinatown Detective Agency is a point and click detective game launching on day one. That alone is enough for me to say sign me up. You also have a few EA games already on Game Pass coming to cloud streaming. Star Wars: Squadrons was a cool space simulation game while Dragon Age 2 and Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare have their fans.

True Colors

As with every update, there are a few games on the way out as well. MLB The Show 21 makes sense with 22 joining the service. It will be joined by Pathway, The Long Dark, and Rain on Your Parade on April 15th with F1 2019 following on April 18th. Rain on Your Parade in particular was a big hit with our own Heather Johnson Yu so that might be worth checking out before it leaves.

Andrew Thornton
Andrew has been writing about video games for nearly twenty years, contributing to publications such as DarkStation, Games Are Fun, and the E-mpire Ltd. network. He enjoys most genres but is always pulled back to classic RPG's, with his favorite games ever including Suikoden II, Panzer Dragoon Saga, and Phantasy Star IV. Don't worry though, he thinks new games are cool too, with more recent favorites like Hades, Rocket League, and Splatoon 2 stealing hundreds of hours of his life. When he isn't playing games he's often watching classic movies, catching a basketball game, or reading the first twenty pages of a book before getting busy and forgetting about it.
