I’m Getting Tired Of Writing This Article
Over the last year delays feel like they’ve become a part of the game development process in a way they haven’t been in a long time. It almost feels more surprising when a game does release on the expected date instead of being delayed to a later date. With a global pandemic causing major challenges to development this isn’t a surprise. As much as I’ve come to expect it though, it still feels bad every time I need to write another of these articles. This time the culprit is Forspoken, Square Enix’s action RPG originally set to hit the PS5 and PC this May.
That’s no longer happening. Forspoken has a new target release date of October 11th. In announcing the delay on Twitter, the development team promised to use the extra time to polish the game and make it the best it can be when it finally releases. With a cool looking original world and an interesting protagonist, I definitely hope they’re able to pull this off. While I was looking forward to playing Forspoken in only a few months, I’d rather play a good version this October than a rough one in May. If the game isn’t ready, it isn’t ready. For now, you can check out a trailer for Forspoken below.
