Delays Didn’t End Just Because 2021 Did
We saw an awful lot of delays in the second half of 2021, with many studios continuing to feel the impact of the ongoing pandemic. While some may have hoped that leaving that year behind would see an end to it, so far that seems unlikely. Our first big delay of 2022 is already here with S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl moving from a previously announced April release date all the way back to December 8th.
Expect delays like this to continue as developers continue trying to find the right balance of when they can release games. In making their announcement on Twitter the development team cited the need to thoroughly test the game and make sure the game releases with the level of polish they expect.
While we’re all for games releasing when they’re ready to do so, PC and Xbox players will certainly be disappointed. It also leaves a big hole in the Xbox’s lineup of exclusives with little else set to release in the first half of 2022. Check out the most recent trailer for the game below to tide you over until S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is ready.
