More Trials and Fewer Errors
Greetings, Travelers. Today we’re taking a look at the second coming of the Misty Dungeon event and all of the trials within!
This event handles very similarly to how the original one did, which you can read about here if you’d like, with rewards consisting of Primogems, Hero’s Wit, Mora, and Mystic Enhancement Crystals. I’ll be reposting some of the general information that was from the first run of this event down below.
The goal of these dungeons is to activate three runes to access the final challenge. These runes are scattered around the map, and the ones you’re after will have a red beam of light shining skyward. When you activate them, you’ll have some enemies to defeat.
Red runes give no buffs, but you can do extra challenges for assorted buffs. You’ll have 15 minutes per dungeon, but you can increase that by doing other non-red rune challenges.
Along the way, you’ll come across turrets charged by an element. You’ll want to use an element that will cause a reaction, so Electro to Pyro for Overload, or Hydro to Electro for Electrocharged, and so on.
Now, unlike other events, you aren’t taking your characters in here. Instead, you’ll have seven characters to choose from, all with their own upgraded weapons, talents, and artifacts.
As for constellation, if you have that character, it’ll base its constellation off of your character’s constellation. If you don’t have that trial character, the constellation is set to 0.
This time around, the trials are quite different from the first run. You’ll also only have access to seven trial characters per trial (sans the Lightbringer Trial), with those characters changing out between the trials, so some necessary planning is advisable. Since there’s no worry about variables such as Artifacts or Talent Level, I can give some general advice on how to take on the trials using just an understanding of how each character works. Make sure to brush up on your Elemental reactions, you’ll need them.
Thundershock Trial: I took Raiden Shogun, Sucrose, Xinqiu, and Barbara. While you take a risk wetting yourself down with Barbara’s healing, then immediately playing with Raiden Shogun’s electricity, you need the healing so you can keep her out as DPS and Energy Recharger. The key here is to get Xingqiu’s Burst and Raiden Shogun’s burst ready. Get one or more enemies applied with Electro or Hydro, use Sucrose to spread the Elemental Effects with her Elemental Skill, trigger Barbara’s healing if needed, then activate Xingqiu’s Burst, followed by Raiden Shogun’s Burst. You’ll be hitting massive amounts of Electroshock, which is buffed in damage and assists in letting you spam Elemental Bursts more often. This almost wound up giving me infinite amounts of time using the Electroshock Burst combo I mentioned earlier. Just watch Raiden’s health and heal when needed because she is kinda squishy.
Freezing Trial: I took Ayaka, Mona, Diona, and Xingqiu. The DPS here isn’t as high as it could be, but it’s worth the hit. You won’t take much damage being shielded by Diona, and even if you do, Xingqiu’s Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst absorb damage and heal the user. Keep enemies distracted with Mona’s Elemental Skill, freeze them with Ayaka by dashing (this will apply Cryo to her blade), and using her Elemental Skill, and shield when needed. For added DPS, activate Xingqiu’s Elemental Burst and Diona’s Burst together, and you get healed, get some extra damage off, and absolutely ensure nothing moves. After all, you can’t take damage if the enemies can’t attack, and this combination ensures a thick layer of permafrost.
Windswept Trial: I picked Kazuha, Xingqiu, Barbara, and Keqing. You’ll want to focus on keeping Elemental Effects going all throughout the fight and around the field. Keep Keqing out for primary DPS, keep enemies applied with Electro using Keqing’s Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst, heal with Barbara when needed, and use Xingqiu to your utmost ability to keep DPS high, and Elemental Effects applied so you can swap in Kazuha when enough enemies are either shocked or wet. While Electroshock isn’t buffed here like it is in the Thundershock Trial, it’s still the most viable for the time being that you can make on your own. When you see the opportunity, don’t forget that other elements from enemies can be picked up with Kazuha’s skills.
Desirous Trial: I went with Raiden Shogun, Eula, Kujou Sara, and Sayu. This trial gives you the gift of buffed Elemental Bursts. Raiden Shogun and Eula are both here, meaning you are more than likely going to go by the good ol’ strategy of “hit it ’til it dies.” That said, be cautious of over-specializing in DPS here, because it can get you banged up. The lineup for this Trial doesn’t allow for shielding, so keep your healing up constantly with Sayu. Use Kujou Sara to buff and help apply Electro, then hit with either Eula for Superconduct or double up on Electro damage with Raiden Shogun. I found that I would often pull out whoever gets their Elemental Burst ready first, and with Raiden Shogun helping as a battery, it was often a case of killing something before it can kill me by Bursting it to death. If this setup seems a bit risky, you might substitute one of the DPS or Kujou Sara for Beidou, so you can have a parry mechanica added in to keep you from taking damage.
Amplifying Trial: I took Diluc, Xingqiu, Rosaria, and Xiangling. This trial puts in a buff for Vaporize and Melt reactions. It proves a bit trickier still in that you still don’t have much in the way of healing, so for this, focus on lots of Elemental Reactions, especially Vaporize and Melt. I used Xingqiu to wet down enemies before swapping to Xiangling, dropping down Guoba, then returning to Rosaria for a quick backstab. You can be pretty lenient with your combos, just as long as you have either Xingqiu or Rosaria starting it. Also, abuse the hell out of Elemental Bursts, because with this setup, you’ll have more than enough energy to run on.
Transformative Trial: I took Yoimiya, Fischl, Sucrose, and Diona. This trial was focused on some of the other Elemnetal Reactions, including Superconduct and Overcharge. While Diona did the occasional Cryo application and shielding/healing, I used Fischl and Yoimiya to keep detonating enemies over and over while swapping out Sucrose on occasion to help spread the Elements. It’s relatively cut and dry, just keep up on your Elemental applications, and you should have no issue dealing damage and clearing this trial.
Lightbringer Trial: A no-holds-barred beatdown with whoever the hell you want. All the characters from the previous trials are front and center, so pick the ones you like the most and have fun. While there are many ways to clear this one, I personally took Eula, Raiden Shogun, Xingqiu, and Diona.
