Brawl On in River City Girls 2
We’ve known for a while now that River City Girls was getting a sequel. But it was still nice watching WayForward reveal some new details about the upcoming River City Girls 2 during today’s Indie World presentation. If you’re not sure what the series is all about, though, please read up on HPP’s River City Girls review first.
All caught up? Fantastic. What’s most exciting about the action-packed sequel is the fact it features a lot of elements fans of the first game have been clamoring for. First and foremost is online co-op. That’s a big deal for any beat ’em up, and it’s notoriously hard to achieve on Nintendo Switch. Regardless, if they pull it off it’ll be glorious.
River City Girls 2 features more of everything. It has 6 playable characters, each with a unique and upgradeable set of moves. It also features a bigger city. For fans of exploring, there’s also many branching paths in this lushly animated world. If you have a friend handy or not, the game will still feature 2 player co-op, which is great. And the sequel even includes a new soundtrack by the composer of the first game, Megan McDuffee.
There’s a lot of reasons to be hyped for River City Girls 2. But we saved the best for last. It’s not too far off, and is slated for a Summer 2022 release window. So if you are ready for more mayhem with Kyoko and Misako, then get ready later this year!
