If you’re a fan of Coffee Talk, then you’ll be especially happy about After Love EP. It’s by the same creative director behind Coffee Talk, and it’s set in an emotional and nuanced musical adventure. Touted as “a stirring narrative about love, loss and lyricism“, After Love EP is a striking game. It takes place after your girlfriend Cinta dies. You made a promise to her, and her spirit will see to it you keep it by continuing to make music.
After Love EP also features multiple endings, depending on the actions you take. It’s set in Jakarta, Indonesia, and has some unique flair as a result. Better yet, the game features the musical talents of Indonesian band L’alphalpha, contrasted nicely by the art of Soyatu. Oh and did I mention the game style is also inspired by Japanese manga? Yea, this is going to be an interesting game.
If you like what you’ve read, then the good news is that After Love EP is slated to release on Nintendo Switch this Summer 2022. Though I normally am not drawn to games like this, it’s hard to resist the pull of the game’s unique art style.
