Wonder Woman Finally Gets The Game She Deserves

Monolith Finds A New Way To Use the Nemesis System

Wonder Woman

Somehow, Wonder Woman has never had her own solo title. If you don’t believe me, look it up. She’s been featured in a lot of Justice League and DC games over the years, but she’s never had a game which was her own, unless you want to count a flash game made for Snapchat years ago. That seems crazy, doesn’t it? Over the years almost all the other prominent DC characters have gotten a game. Even beyond the obvious Batman and Superman, the Green Lantern got one. The Flash has had a handful. Aquaman, The Teen Titans, Constantine, even Swamp Thing have all had their own games.

Someone apparently realized how insane that is because the team at Monolith, known for their Middle-Earth titles, are working on a solo Wonder Woman title and they’re bringing their nemesis system with them. Diana Prince will be tasked with bringing together the human and Amazon world to save the world from a great threat. The connections she makes along the way, both with friends and foes, will have a huge influence on how the game develops.

Things seem like they may be early in development. For now, Wonder Woman doesn’t have a release date, known platforms, we don’t even known if that’s the final title. The trailer is really just a voiceover with a shot of the character wielding her Lasso of Truth. Still, just the idea of Wonder Woman finally taking the spotlight has me excited. Check out the teaser below and let us know what you think in the comments.

Andrew has been writing about video games for nearly twenty years, contributing to publications such as DarkStation, Games Are Fun, and the E-mpire Ltd. network. He enjoys most genres but is always pulled back to classic RPG's, with his favorite games ever including Suikoden II, Panzer Dragoon Saga, and Phantasy Star IV. Don't worry though, he thinks new games are cool too, with more recent favorites like Hades, Rocket League, and Splatoon 2 stealing hundreds of hours of his life. When he isn't playing games he's often watching classic movies, catching a basketball game, or reading the first twenty pages of a book before getting busy and forgetting about it.
