Echo Generation: Getting the Quantum CPU

Get the Latest Quantum Tech in This Echo Generation Guide

If you’ve been skulking around FST, you’ll probably be wondering if they’ve got that Quantum CPU that Mr. Magnus keeps going on about. Well, I’ll be showing you just how to solve that quantum conundrum.

First off, you’ll need a bit of preparation to get inside FST and to progress things when you’re in there. You’ll need to have gone to the Bookstore and get the Porto book in the back left of the store, near where the train tracks are.

Bring that back to your main character’s mother, and she’ll pass you a photo you’re going to need later. Before you leave the neighborhood, you’ll need to go grab the Green Paint from the store up in the Treehouse.

First, you’ll need to have infiltrated FSL. When you’re at the grate for the sewer leading inside, pull out BLOPO-11, and he’ll laser through the steel.

Once you’re inside, you’ll want to dodge the guards and move up the staircase, and head to the right and towards the computer room. Head inside and to the terminal that you can interact with.

Mess with the compiling, then head to the other side of the catwalk, again, avoiding the guy with the flamethrower. There’s a guy you can talk with that will take off for the computer once he realizes it’s screwed up. Snatch the FST Access Card to the left side and activate the claw arm switch while you’re there before going through the door in the middle of the catwalk.

Now that you’re out in open rain, you’ll want to dodge the lasers from the massive mechs unless you want to take them down for a bit of XP. They aren’t the hardest to kill, but they won’t be going without a fight. Move past them, and there’s a building you can enter. Be warned, tripping the laser will activate a mini-boss fight. Once you’re past that, you’ll be able to skirt the back left wall, hit the switch that opens that massive door in the back, and you’re able to go into the lab. Your next destination is to the right side of the room, up the stairs, and the lady right near the landing.

Talk to her, and you’ll go through a bit of exposition that will culminate in you being able to enter the Examination room. Head back down the stairs, then to the left side of the room, through a sliding door. Go to the elevator in the back of that little room and try to use it, to which you’ll need to obtain permission from the nearby researcher to use it.

He’ll request some way to get a picture of the aliens, to which you can quickly and easily now obtain that. If you head all the way back to the railway camp (the map that’s one back from the trainyard) to where the homeless artist has just finished up her most recent painting and is looking for inspiration for her next piece. Here’s where the Green Paint comes in. Talk to her again, and she’ll agree to paint you a portrait of an alien to give to the researcher.

Now that you can head up to the second floor, you will want to hold on to the painting for right now. Head over to the right and up the stairs toward where the tower is holding the Quantum CPU. Talk to the guy working on it, and you will have the option to let him check out the alien painting.

Now that he’s distracted, yoink the CPU from its mount and get ready to leave the lab. The alarms go off, and you’re set to leave this place for good. Before you completely check out, though, nab the comic on the desk on your way back to the elevator.

You’re going to want to leave the lab and building entirely, then head to the left and to a doorway. Be ready for a fight here, because there’s a mech waiting to bust you the moment you try to leave. Make scrap metal of the mech. Then you can head to the back stairwell and exit that building. Head downstairs, and there’ll be a guy guarding a doorway. He’s a short fight, not even a mini-boss, but once you beat him, he’ll let you pass through that door, leading you out to a calm sunset and far away from the disastrous mess you just made for a whole lab of researchers. The only thing left to do is take that CPU to Mr. Magnus!

That’s all for this guide on getting the Quantum CPU in Echo Generation, but stay tuned for more guides and news!
