Coming to consoles next February, Monark’s new trailer introduces the upcoming role-playing game’s adversaries
Back in June, NIS America announced plans to release Monark, the creepy new RPG developed by FuRyu, early next year. Now, we know exactly when we’ll be able to get our hands on the game. The publisher confirmed this morning that Monark will release for the Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 on February 22, 2022.
News of the game’s release date comes alongside a new trailer. In the latest footage, we get a look at some of the adversaries we’ll encounter over the course of the adventure. Among them are third-year Shin Mikado student and acting student council president Kurama Hitotsubashi, the mysterious, occult-crazed Subaru Ikariya, and Hayate Tsumabuki, one of the academy’s instructors.

In Monark, players take control of a Shin Mikado student who, after their school is overcome by the aforementioned mist, must enter the Otherworld, a Daemon-filled dimension, and use Fiends—physical manifestations of their own Ego—to defeat the seven “Pactbearers” responsible for bringing corruption to the academy.
Of course, when you’re faced with so many adversaries, you’ll need a few good companions on your side. NIS America released a trailer last month showcasing the allies you’ll meet in Monark. Did you miss it? If so, have no fear. We’ve got you covered. You can check out that trailer here.
Stay tuned for more details on this eerie epic as they become available.
