Their lives are in your hands when House of Ashes launches on October 22
With the release of The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes just two weeks away, publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment America released a new trailer introducing the game’s cast of characters.
The footage showcases the US military unit who, after coming under fire from Iraqi forces in the Zagros mountains, finds themselves trapped in an ancient Sumerian temple buried beneath the desert. But, unlucky for them, they’re not alone. Something evil lurks in the shadows. And judging from the trailer, it’s hungry.

Here’s a rundown of the game courtesy of the publisher:
“Iraq, 2003. As the conflict draws to a close, CIA field operative Rachel King joins an elite military unit on a raid of a suspected underground chemical weapons facility in the shadow of the Zagros Mountains. Arriving at the designated coordinates, the unit is ambushed by a local enemy patrol led by Sergeant Salim Othman. During the battle, an earthquake opens sinkholes in the ground, pitching both sides into the ruins of a buried Sumerian temple. In the darkness beneath the Arabian Desert, something evil is awakened. Savage and unstoppable, a nest of ancient and unearthly creatures has a new prey to hunt.”
House of Ashes marks the third entry in Supermassive Games’ Dark Pictures Anthology, a series of self-contained horror stories from the creators of Until Dawn. If you’re eager to dive into their newest nightmare, you won’t have to wait much longer. The game launches on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Steam on October 22 – just in time for Halloween!
