Go 3D This Spring in Kirby and the Forgotten Land

A Strange New Realm

Kirby and the Forgotten Land | Waddles

One of the biggest surprises for me today was Kirby and the Forgotten Land. Sure, they had dropped some reveals earlier, but I personally hadn’t seen any. I was so flummoxed by the trailer shown during the Direct I initially thought it was for Splatoon 3. That’s cause I know the latter is post apocalyptic, and the beginning of the trailer showed what looks like a derelict shopping mall. Imagine my surprise when my favorite pink fluff ball appeared! He’s gonna go full 3D in Kirby and the Forgotten Land.

Now, the transition of any series to full 3D can be challenging. And while Kirby flirted with 3D before, it was nothing like this. Kirby and the Forgotten Land appears to have expansive environments to explore, climbing ladders and floating about. And like any good Kirby game, you can absorb enemy powers in this as well. Which will be necessary when facing off against larger than life bosses.

Honestly, words can’t do Kirby and the Forgotten Land justice. I’ve been hoping for a new entry for some time now, and I’m beyond eager to see what mysteries await Kirby in this wonderful new setting. Please check out the trailer below. And make sure to check the game out when it launches on Nintendo Switch in Spring of 2022.
