Nintendo Download for 9/23/21

Nintendo Download: Nintendo Direct Edition

Nintendo Download | Centipede Recharged

It’s always a challenge covering a Nintendo Download the same day as a Nintendo Direct. But luckily for us, the Direct is happening a few hours later. So for now, let’s try and focus on the Nintendo Direct for 9/23/21. This one features some really different titles, a special sale and the usual grab bag of digital games. Let’s start with with a very different take on a fighting game.

Paws of Furry

Nintendo Download | Fisti-Fluffs

I still remember when Fisti-Fluffs was first shown off, what feels like a year or more ago. It’s a crazy and frenetic fighting game featuring none other than widdle kittens. It’s also physics based and features a ton of different modes. So if you love strange and different titles, I’d definitely check it out. If you want something a bit more mainstream, keep on reading. Dragon Ball fans can shell out some more cash for DRAGON BALL Z: KAKAROT + A NEW POWER AWAKENS SET. Or if you prefer more tactical fare, you’ll want to try out Diablo II: Resurrected. Next, a quick promotion from Nintendo.

    • No Farm, No Fowl – If you haven’t tried STORY OF SEASONS: Pioneers of Olive Town yet, then you’ll want to jump on this chance to tame the wilderness and build your own farm from the ground up! Until Sept. 28, Nintendo Switch Online members can visit Olive Town, plant some crops, raise animals and build relationships by trying the full game … for free!* If you enjoy your cozy stay, STORY OF SEASONS: Pioneers of Olive Town is also currently on sale for 10% off in Nintendo eShop until 9:59 a.m. PT on Oct. 4. Take a stroll off the beaten path and enjoy this special opportunity to watch Olive Town come to life.

Fishing For More Sales

Now, there’s actually a few different sales happening now besides the usual Game Guide fun. But only one of those is worth mention, as far as prices and sheer variety of titles. That’s the Blockbuster Sale. It lasts from today until 10/3, and offers up to 60% off a variety of games. I’ll list the highlights first. Here goes – Axiom Verge, Bioshock: The Collection, Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon, Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling, Enter the Gungeon, GRIS, Hades, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, Metro 2033 Redux, Overcooked! 2, Persona 5 Strikers, Puyo Puyo Tetris 2, Shovel Knight Treasure Trove, Spiritfarer, Unravel Two, Valkyria Chronicles 4 and Wargroove. To see the full list, just click here.

Next up, how about some Game Guide sales? First the cheaper stuff. You can innovate platforming in Super Magbot for $7.19. Or get frantic with Jetboard Joust for $6.99. Those that love hardcore should try Katana Kata for $7.49. Blast some hideous monsters in WRITHE for $6.99. And finally, roll the dice on a good time with Dicey Dungeons for $5.09.

Breaking Into Adventure

Nintendo Download | Beast Breaker

For some rollicking action, try Knights & Guns for $10.49. Or to dive into your nightmares, try Dreamscaper for $19.99. To smash everything in sight, try Paint the Town Red for $13.99. Or blast away the competition in Trigger Witch for $11.99. Lastly, puzzle fans should experience the glory of Jorj in Grindstone for $13.99.

Waifu 4 Laifu

Nintendo Download | Sakura Swim Club

The Nintendo Download is almost over, but it’s going out with a bang. There’s a TON of digital games this week, so get comfortable. Fans of retro adjacent should try these – Arcade Archives SOLDAM, Antonball Deluxe, Centipede: Recharged and G-DARIUS HD. Platformer fans should try Cube Samurai: Run Squared, Haustoria, Rift Adventure and UnMetal. For those that love strategy, try Beast Breaker, ConnecTank and Staxel. I hope you love puzzle games, cause there’s a ton to check out – A Juggler’s Tale, Don’t Forget Me, Draknek and Friends Puzzle Bundle, In My Shadow, Jigsaw Masterpieces EX – Kawaii Cute Goddesses – and The Plane Effect. Adventure Game fans should try GRISAIA PHANTOM TRIGGER 06, Kirakira stars idol project Memories and Sakura Swim Club. For multiplayer fun, try Embr. Or to fulfill the need for speed, try Smashy Road: Wanted 2. And for a new arcade classic, look no further than Steel Assault.
