Nintendo Download – Wario Edition!
It’s time for the greedy Wario installment of the Nintendo Download for 9/9/21! With everyone’s favorite doppleganger on the horizon, you can bet there’s some fun games this week. Not only does this Nintendo Download include several featured titles, it also has the usual sales and events. So let’s get started with microgame madness.
Unchained Adventures
I’ve been a fan of WarioWare as long as the series has existed. Sure, some entries were better than others, but there’s no rotten egg in the carton. That said, I feel WarioWare: Get It Together! has the potential to be one of the best. Not only is it jam packed with games, there’s tons to unlock and keep you playing. Especially since each playable character brings something unique to the mayhem. But that’s not all for featured titles. Those looking for a nostalgia rush can try out Cruis’n Blast on your Switch. Or for sci-fi action, check out Ultra Age. And if you want some generic sports fun, you can always try NBA 2K22. Next up, let’s continue the Nintendo Download with some special spotlights.
- Super Mario Odyssey – On Sept. 13, 1985, the very first Super Mario Bros. game launched in Japan, sending players on a freewheeling adventure through the Mushroom Kingdom. In the decades since, Mario has seen his fair share of excitement, with quests that have taken him on wild escapades to exotic locales like Isle Delfino – and even the far reaches of space! But nothing could quite prepare Mario for the epic adventure in store for him in the Super Mario Odyssey game for the Nintendo Switch family of systems. Join Mario and Cappy as they hop aboard an amazing airship and leave the Mushroom Kingdom behind. Explore exciting destinations like nothing you’ve ever seen in a Mario game before. From the sandy dunes of the Sand Kingdom to skyscraper-packed New Donk City, you can explore astonishing new locales to your heart’s content. Super Mario Odyssey is available now in Nintendo eShop.
- A Walk in the Park With Friends Online – Enjoy the new online play update to PICO PARK when it launches later today! PICO PARK is a cooperative action puzzle game for two to eight players. The rules of the game are quite simple: Get all the keys and get to the goal and clear the level. But all 48 levels have special gimmicks designed specifically for multiplayer. As you move forward, you will need to think about new ways to cooperate with your friends.
Mystikal Fun
Since there’s no new sales events happening, let’s see what the Game Guide has to offer. To plan puzzling routes in space, try Cosmic Express for $6.99. Or to live life as a Fun Guy, try Smashroom for $8.99. Shmup fans should check out B.ARK for $8.99. For some cat wrangling you should investigate Calico for $8.99. And for a good discount on a Metroidvania, try Alwa’s Legacy for half off at $8.99.
Ultra Savings
How about a few more sales? Fans of rocking music and great art should check out Indigo 7 for $10.49. Or for a ruthless twin-stick, try Godstrike for $10.49. RPG fans can enjoy Ikenfell for $13.99. Those that prefer lush and dark Metroidvanias should check out Vigil: The Longest Night for $13.19. Lastly, for a great discount on a silly game, try Disney TSUM TSUM FESTIVAL for $19.99.
GLO ON
We almost had a short and sweet Nintendo Download. But now it’s time for a flood of digital goodies. First up, retro fans only have one option – Arcade Archives USAAF MUSTANG. Puzzle fans should check these out – Dice Legacy, Enchanted Path, GLO and HIX: Puzzle Islands. If you enjoy sim games, try the following – Catlateral Damage, Luna’s Fishing Garden and Residual. To just make some art, try Colors Live. Or for a fun Shmup, look no further than Espgaluda II. For some old school platforming, there’s Apple Knight, Flynn: Son of Crimson and Mystik Belle Enchanted Edition. VN fans should discover Olympia Soirée. For frenetic action, try Hindsight 20/20 – Wrath of the Raakshasa, Knights & Guns and SMASHING THE BATTLE GHOST SOUL. And for a totally reimagined adventure, try BloodRayne Betrayal: Fresh Bites!
Bloody Good Remake
Not a half bad Nintendo Download. Thanks for joining us here at HPP, and be sure to tune in next week. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go pick up the latest WarioWare very soon!
