Freedom Can Be Overpowering
While I know there’s a bunch of news today from Sony’s presentation, this article is here to shine a spotlight on some indies. They’re both being published by Freedom Games, a name you should familiarize yourselves with now. They’ve gathered a bunch of great titles under their banner, and they appear dedicated to supporting indie visions. Today those visions both arrive courtesy of developer OverPowered Team.
Today OverPowered Team have announcements for two titles, Godstrike and Ruin Raiders. I have hands on experience with Ruin Raiders, but wasn’t as familiar with Godstrike. After some research, I found Godstrike is already out on PC and Switch. Today’s news is that now Godstrike is slated to release on PS4 and Xbox One simultaneously, with backwards compatibility bringing it to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S the same day. Below are some key details from the hardcore adventure:
Survive multi-staged boss fights as the Herald, weaving oncoming fire to topple foes before time runs out. Avoid taking damage because the Herald only has as much health as time remains. Launch attacks to chip away at their health before unleashing powerful abilities like True Shot, a homing attack that curves around arenas, to deal massive damage at critical moments.
As for Ruin Raiders, it’s far more tactical. Though that hardly means it’s any easier. It features ancient ruins, anthropomorphic animal soldiers and a ton of delicious complexity. Best of all, it’s now arriving on Steam, Epic and Nintendo Switch this October 14th! Here’s some more reasons you should be excited now:
Explore an unpredictable and ever-changing labyrinth in Ruin Raiders. Lead expeditions of animals on a one-way trip into the labyrinthine depths of a mysterious structure rumored to hold untold riches. Outfit squads with an armory of weapons, stat and skill-boosting upgrades, and items to fight against the strange automatons and creatures lurking underground.
Freedom Games continues to bring promising indies to us hungry gamers, and OverPowered Team seems to have a lot of talent. Be sure to stay tuned to HPP for more exciting indie announcments.
