Check Out The Future of PlayStation
After skipping E3 for the second straight year, Sony promised that at some point they’d reveal their future plans. For months now we’ve all been waiting, but Sony have finally let us know when we can expect to see their upcoming games. A PlayStation Showcase is set for September 9th.
By not calling this a State of Play, Sony have set this apart from other presentations which are generally smaller in scale. The show kicks off at 1PM PDT. Sony are promising around 40 minutes of games from their own studios and third parties. Even after the show studios will stick around to provide more context on some of their announcements. Some of the games shown will be coming this holiday season while others will be set for next year.
Its hard not to speculate what might be here. At the very least we can likely expect to see more from some already revealed Sony titles like Horizon Forbidden West and Gran Turismo 7. Perhaps more from upcoming games like Stray and Ghostwire: Tokyo? Could we see the new God of War finally revealed? With it at one time planning to release in 2021, its hard to imagine they still aren’t ready to show anything. How about the return of other Sony franchises? We can definitely hope.
