BitSummit Just Got Exciting
BitSummit has a way of showcasing amazing new and upcoming games every year. Today they did so with publisher DANGEN Entertainment. The indie powerhouse showcased several games that will be part of their The 8th Bit lineup. That takes place from today until tomorrow, and will include a bunch of games to experience online. However, the main announcements from DANGEN during this are the following. They’re going to be publishing Rise of the Third Power, a classic styled RPG by the folks at Stegosoft Games; another playable demo is for Hunt the Night by Moonlight Games; SMELTER is also coming to PS5; and RTS fans can enjoy Tactical Galactical.
That’s a lot to check out today and tomorrow. But that’s not all! DANGEN also announced the following games will be part of the 8th Bit. Those will include Abomi Nation, Astalon: Tears of the Earth, Evertried, Lost Ruins and Ultra Age. Be sure to check out some details about the newly announced DANGEN games below.
Hunt the Night is a dark fantasy action-adventure game that combines fast, skilled gameplay with RPG elements in a 16-bit aesthetic. It was announced earlier this year for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with a new trailer during Guerilla Collective.
Rise of the Third Power is a love letter to the glory days of the console style RPG. Loosely based on the political climate of Europe in the late 1930’s, the story takes place in the land of Rin during the height of the Age of Sail and follows the events that would lead to the greatest war in human history.
Released worldwide for PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Xbox in April of this year, Smelter is an action-strategy hybrid reminiscent of Mega Man and Actraiser that combines explosive 2D side-scrolling action stages with Mode 7-inspired real time strategy.
To conquer the atrocious, brain-devouring creatures that dwell in the far reaches of outer space, players will need tactical prowess of galactical proportions! They can choose between three different commanders and battle for control of a planet in furious multiplayer battles, or follow the commanders in a wacky romp and carefully crafted single player mode! Each commander has their own unique card deck, with abilities that utilize the battlefields in different ways.
