Summon A Hero Long Past in Rogue Spirit
I think it’s safe to say we’ve all played a game or two with a focus on Asian culture and myths. Onimusha quickly comes to mind, along with many, many others. But I doubt you’ve played one quite like Rogue Spirit. Developed by Kids With Sticks and slated to be published by 505 Games, it arrived to Steam Early Access today. Besides touting an anime style, it’s also a rogue-lite that lets you possess your foes.
Here’s a quick description of the plot:
After thousands of years of relative peace in the Kingdom of Midra, the armies of Chaos crumbled the barrier between reality and the spirit world. The Demon King adds more to his ranks each day, possessing everyone crossing his path. In a last ditch effort, monks of the Forgotten Monastery summon the spirit of the Hero who sealed away the Demon King last time, Midra’s Prince from generations ago.
Rogue Spirit will have you strategically swap bodies to gain access to new skills and attacks. In the Early Access, you’ll explore 6 procedurally generated levels featuring several different enemy types. Enjoy the lush artwork inspired by films such as Princess Mononoke and Nausicaä. Explore distinct environments including forests, marshes and villages.
Currently Rogue Spirit is 10% off at $17.99 for a limited time, and it is slated to launch sometime in 2022. Be sure to check out the trailer below. And stay tuned to HPP for more news from 505 Games.
