Relinquish Your Souls in Cult of the Lamb
Religion can be a funny thing. For some people, it provides guidance; others ignore it; and some get utterly consumed by it. Cult of the Lamb definitely falls into the latter camp. It’s the story of an otherwise adorable sheep saved by a mysterious entity. To repay your debt, all you have to do is build a loyal following in that stranger’s name. Pretty fair trade, I’ll say!
Jokes aside, Cult of the Lamb was revealed earlier today at Gamescom. It’s being published by the folks at Devolver Digital and developed by Massive Monster. It’s coming to PC and consoles in 2022, though which consoles haven’t been specified yet. Gameplay focuses on serving the needs of your followers, building new structures and violently venturing into dark realms. Plus, if you come across a rival cult, you’ll need to deal with their leader to absorb their flock.
The basic premise of the game is described perfectly below:
Charismatic developer Massive Monster and their faithful followers at Devolver Digital have announced Cult of the Lamb, an adorably dark game about running a cult in a crumbling world of ritual and ruin, utilising a powerful gameplay loop of base building and dungeon crawling.
Cult of the Lamb looks delightfully twisted, with cute yet horrifying artwork and plenty of style. I admit I’m getting strong Binding of Isaac vibes from it, which I personally love. You can see more below in the official reveal trailer. And be sure to stay tuned to HPP for more news from the folks at Devolver Digital and Massive Monster.
