Stay In The Light
Revealed during 2K’s Gamescom showcase today, Midnight Suns puts you on the darker side of the Marvel universe. Developed by Firaxis Games, most known for their XCOM series, this title will offer unique gameplay to set it apart.
The initial trailer reveals that you’ll be taking on Lilith, a demon sorceress set on taking over the world. This isn’t a job for the standard Avengers lineup, so you’ll get to explore a slightly darker side of the Marvel Universe.
While the game’s lead will be original character known as The Hunter, Lilith’s child and the only one to ever defeat her, there’s plenty of room for returning favorites as well. Some of the characters you’d expect in any Marvel game are here. Iron Man and Captain America for example both show up in the trailer, though with new designs fit for a darker game. Wolverine is prominently featured as well, something which would have been obvious years ago but which feels exciting after the X-Men being pushed out of the spotlight for many years.
A Midnight Suns game needs the Midnight Sons however and some more niche characters also answer the call. Ghost Rider and Blade feature prominently in the game’s first trailer. The pulls get deeper though with Magik of the X-Men and Nico Minoru of the Runaways showing up too. Doctor Strange and Captain Marvel also look to be on the team with plenty of room for additional reveals to come.
