You’ll Have To Wait A Little Longer For This One To Dawn
Fans of Horizon Zero Dawn have held out hope that the game’s sequel might still meet a planned 2021 release window. Those hopes are gone today, but the good news is they won’t have to wait too much longer. Horizon Forbidden West is set to release February 18th, 2022.
This news has been rumored for weeks but the team at Guerilla made it official today. While any delay is disappointing, at least the game will still be hitting early next year. This time you’ll join Aloy as she heads to the ancient remains of San Francisco to find the secret of why the world is dying.
Horizon Forbidden West is the latest in a long line of titles delayed over the last month. The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has put a lot of stress on developers around the world. While we hope this will be the last major title to see delay, we wouldn’t bet on it. Still, there may be some upsides. Many recently announced titles are only months away from release. This could signal developers more frequently keeping details under wraps until they’re confident they can hit an announced date.
