Final Fantasy IV Pixel Remaster Hits Steam September 8th

Relive A Classic

Final Fantasy IV

Fans of the Final Fantasy series must be loving all the recent attention the series’ classic titles are getting recently. The first three games in the series released on Steam in July in fully remastered form. While some may not love every aspect of these remasters (cough, the text, cough) their overall look is wonderful. Now Square Enix is set to release one of the series’ more popular titles in Final Fantasy IV.

Originally released in 1991, Final Fantasy IV is the story of Cecil, a dark knight who starts to have second thoughts about his mission. It set many of the standards the series is still known for today. Final Fantasy IV also marked a huge change in the series’ storytelling with set characters making up your party.

Final Fantasy IV

Final Fantasy IV will release at $17.99 though a 20% launch discount is available now if you preorder. Those who do so will also get some additional songs from the soundtrack and wallpapers. It is worth noting that this is based on the original release. That means extra content from the DS and PSP releases of the game will not be included.

Have you been able to check out the Final Fantasy pixel remasters yet? Will you be grabbing this version of this beloved classic? If so, let us know what you think in the comments. You can check out a teaser for these remasters below as well.

Andrew Thornton
Andrew has been writing about video games for nearly twenty years, contributing to publications such as DarkStation, Games Are Fun, and the E-mpire Ltd. network. He enjoys most genres but is always pulled back to classic RPG's, with his favorite games ever including Suikoden II, Panzer Dragoon Saga, and Phantasy Star IV. Don't worry though, he thinks new games are cool too, with more recent favorites like Hades, Rocket League, and Splatoon 2 stealing hundreds of hours of his life. When he isn't playing games he's often watching classic movies, catching a basketball game, or reading the first twenty pages of a book before getting busy and forgetting about it.
