Finish The Game
Halo fans have waited a long time for more news about the release of Halo Infinite. Originally set to release during the 2020 holiday season alongside the Xbox Series X|S, poor fan reactions led to a delay. Since then the most Microsoft will say is that it is coming this holiday season.
That release period seems to still be on track, albeit with some significant compromises. During the game’s August development update, the 343 Industries team clarified that the game is still on track to release this holiday season. Not every mode will be included however. The plan currently is for campaign co-op and the popular forge mode to miss launch. Campaign co-op would come out during the game’s first season of updates within 3 months of launch. Forge would then release during the next season, within six months.
While this may not seem like the ideal way to release such an anticipated title, the team at 343 Industries prioritized getting the game’s free to play multiplayer and the solo campaign ready to go. Whether this is the right move remains to be seen. It does increase the odds that Halo fans will have something to enjoy this holiday season though.
