Insanity Just Got Even More Fun
Doors of Insanity is a quirky and ambitious rogue card game I first encountered several months back. It has you fight your way through Purgatory against twisted and delightful fiends. Developed by OneShark and published by Neon Doctrine (previously called Another Indie), I was impressed by many of its elements, even as a couple held it back. And though I tried the game out in February, it’s still in Steam Early Access. But things are about to get a lot more interesting thanks to a trio of substantive updates.
All three of these updates significantly alter how you play Doors of Insanity. The first one is called the Grand Equipment Meta Update. Using the Equipment Master artifact, you can find a use for everything in your inventory. Even as a blunt object to whack monsters with. Some other key aspects of this update are an improved starting area, new starting cards, modifiers for Enraged, Wounded and Fattened and equipment from Vigil: The Longest Night.
Second up is the Special Summoner Meta Update. Using the Summoner Master artifact, you can boost your summoned allies, pick cards from your deck and even get an eagle buddy. Even better, your total number of live summons increases to six, which is a big help for tough battles. I personally loved summoning allies when I last played Doors of Insanity, so I’m really looking forward to using this artifact.
Lastly we have the Spicy Dice Meta Update. I always felt underwhelmed by the dice features in the game, and this goes a long way to fixing that. Now rolling doubles can unleash fiery mayhem. And god help your foes if you roll two sixes… This is all thanks to the Dice Master artifact.
