Birds And Computers Don’t Mix
With all the recent delays, one more shouldn’t come as a shock. Still, with only a couple of weeks to go, it’s a shame to see SkateBIRD pushed back. Like with Kena recently however, this is a pretty small delay.
SkateBIRD is moving from an originally planned August 12th date to September 16th. Why? Well if you watch the video below, it’s all the bird’s fault. His skating antics caused a fire, ruining resources and making the development team rebuild them. Pesky birds, always messing things up with their skating.
In all seriousness, the reasons likely are a lot like all the other recent delays. A need for more polish combined with the difficulty of finishing development during a pandemic. A delay of just over a month really isn’t so bad.
It’s nice to see the development team have a sense of humor about the situation and the video below is a lot of fun. It’s definitely more effort than most developers put into announcing a delay. We’ll still be hitting the half pipe with our bird friends very soon. You’ll be able to do so on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox platforms, and Amazon Luna. Until then, check out the latest SkateBIRD trailer below and let us know what you think.
