Blaster Master Zero 3 – How to Access the True Ending

Triggering Blaster Master Zero 3’s True Ending Takes a Little Out-of-the-Box Thinking

Blaster Master Zero 3 | True Ending Guide Featured

Blaster Master Zero 3 is finally here! As such, it’s time to grab our controllers and join Jason Frudnick as he blasts his way through Planet Sophia in an effort to rescue his partner, Eve. Now, if you’ve played the previous two games, you may rightly assume that there are two endings: a normal one, and one you need to unlock. However, Blaster Master Zero 3 differs from the previous two games in how you unlock it.

Now Inti Creates had a neat idea for this. As such, I’ll give you a hint before revealing the actual trick. Just in case you want to try and figure it out yourself. Also, please keep in mind that since we are dealing with end-game content, there are some spoilers.

Blaster Master Zero 3 | Kanna

Since I’m sure some of you want to try and figure this out, here’s a picture of Kanna as a buffer.

The Hint

Blaster Master Zero 3 | Warning!

Alright, here’s your last chance to back out and think about the solution.

After defeating the boss of Area 6, you’ll encounter a cutscene. During this sequence, Jason will think something in red text. When this occurs, you need to do something. In particular, think about what Jason is referring to. If, for some reason, you don’t see the red text, then make sure your game has been updated to version 1.1.0.

The Answer

Blaster Master Zero 3 | Reverse Fate

This or the previous text box is where you need to apply the solution.

When the red text is displayed, activate the VRV system. This will change the cutscene, and upon its completion, you’ll gain access to Area ???. If you didn’t get it, don’t feel bad. I spent about six hours trying everything under the sun before finally tapping out and asking Inti Creates directly what the solution was. That said, I wish to give them a big thanks for the quick reply.

I hope that helps you all out! Please keep an eye out for our review of Blaster Master Zero 3, which will be out sometime next week. In the meantime, please also consider taking a look at our preview of the game, which was written by our very own indie-loving Josh Speer.
