Dead Space Remake Coming To Next Generation Platforms

The Series Is Dead No More

Dead Space

During their EA Play Live event today, Electronic Arts revealed what has become a bit of an open secret. A remake of Dead Space is on the way.

Coming only to next generation systems, Dead Space will release on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The remake is being handled by Motive Studios, who most recently put out Star Wars Squadrons last year. It is being rebuilt from the ground up using the Frostbite engine.

Dead Space

This is the first release for this series since the third title released in 2013. The original development team at Visceral Games were closed in 2017.

EA chose not to reveal a release date, or even a target period, so far. Outside of knowing this is a remake of that original Dead Space title we don’t know a lot. They did reveal a first teaser trailer though which you can check out below. Are you excited for this series to return? Let us know how you feel in the comments.

Andrew has been writing about video games for nearly twenty years, contributing to publications such as DarkStation, Games Are Fun, and the E-mpire Ltd. network. He enjoys most genres but is always pulled back to classic RPG's, with his favorite games ever including Suikoden II, Panzer Dragoon Saga, and Phantasy Star IV. Don't worry though, he thinks new games are cool too, with more recent favorites like Hades, Rocket League, and Splatoon 2 stealing hundreds of hours of his life. When he isn't playing games he's often watching classic movies, catching a basketball game, or reading the first twenty pages of a book before getting busy and forgetting about it.
