Sonic Colors Ultimate shows off new screens and gameplay footage for E3 2021
SEGA has released a fresh batch of screens and a new trailer for Sonic Colors Ultimate.
In the latest footage, we see the Blue Blur race through the game’s fourth act, Planet Wisp. It’s an industrial area filled with heavy machinery and flashing klaxons surrounded by a verdant forest. It does a great job of showcasing the game’s new HD visuals and updated assets.

Announced on May 27, Sonic Colors Ultimate is a remaster of the Sonic Team and Dimps developed 2010 Wii title. In it, Dr. Eggman has constructed an interstellar amusement park and is powering it with a captured alien race called “Wisps.” Sonic must race through the colorful environments and rescue these hapless creatures. The game features upscaled visuals (4K on PlayStation and Xbox!) and a new Rival Rush mode.
In addition to the new trailer, SEGA released nine new screenshots showcasing a variety of levels. Check out the full-size images in the gallery below.
Those with the need for speed won’t have to wait too much longer to get their hands on Sonic Colors Ultimate. The game will release for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and Epic Games Store on September 7, 2021.
