Arcade1up unveils 3 new arcade machines to level up your game room
Earlier this week, we reported that Arcade1up will soon be releasing a 3/4 scale version of The Simpsons arcade game. Well, if you thought things couldn’t get any more exciting for the home arcade manufacturer, you might want to sit down. The company has announced plans to open pre-orders for Turtles in Time, Street Fighter Big Blue, and Ms. PAC-MAN Galaga Class of ’81 cabinets this Summer.
First released in 1991, Turtles in Time is the follow-up to Konami’s hugely popular 1989 TMNT arcade game. This four-player cabinet includes both of those iconic brawlers in one popping purple package. Cowabunga!
The cabinet features wi-fi for online co-op play, an illuminated marquee, a matching riser, and a light-up deck protector.
If you want to secure one of these bad boys, you’ll get your chance soon enough. Pre-orders for the Arcade1up Turtles in Time arcade machine open on July 1, 2021. Pretty exciting, right? But just you wait. You haven’t seen anything yet.
If you grew up in the early 90s like me, then you’ll instantly recognize Capcom’s gorgeous, Big Blue arcade cabinets. If you’ve always wanted to have one of these monolithic –but may just a bit less monolithic– machines in your house, you’re in luck. Arcade1up also announced plans to release a Street Fighter 2 Big Blue cabinet, featuring a whopping 12 built-in games. The lineup offers many of the company’s most memorable releases from the 90s, including:
- Street Fighter II: Championship Edition
- Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting
- Super Street Fighter II: Turbo
- Super Puzzle Fighter II: Turbo
- Night Warriors: Darkstalkers’ Revenge
- Darkstalkers 3
- Saturday Night Slam Masters
- Knights of the Round
- Eco Fighters
- Capcom Sports Club
- Muscle Bomber Duo
Not a bad lineup, right? The Street Fighter 2 Big Blue is Capcom’s tallest cabinet ever produced, standing at an imposing (well, for a 3/4 arcade machine, anyway) 67.5″. Like the Turtles in Time cabinet, it includes wi-fi, a matching riser, and a lit marquee and deck protector. Pre-orders for this machine also open on July 1, 2021.
Last but not least, Golden Age gamers will be happy to learn that a Ms. PAC-MAN Galaga Class of ’81 cabinet will be available to pre-order in August. Made to celebrate the games’ 40th anniversary, the cabinet includes 12 built-in titles.
You can find the full games list below:
- Ms. PAC-MAN
- Galaga ’88
- Dig Dug
- Dig Dug II
- Rally X
- Rolling Thunder
- Tower of Druaga
- King and Balloon
Like the previously mentioned cabinets, the Class of ’81 cabinet features wi-fi, a matching riser, and a lit marquee and deck protector.
At the time of this writing, no prices have been announced. However, Arcade1up’s cabinets range from $299-$599. Obviously, you can expect the four-player Turtles in Time to be sitting at the higher end of the pricing spectrum.
So, what do you think of the latest offerings from Arcade1up? Will you be adding the Arcade1up Turtles in Time to your game room? As for me, I’m dying to get my mitts on the Big Blue. Sound off in the comments and let us know!
