New Premium Label Aims To Immerse Players Around The World

Prime Matter

Koch Media today announced a brand new gaming label, Prime Matter. Prime Matter is all about bringing immersive new games to players and they are kicking things off with thirteen game announcements including some big ones.

“Prime Matter is a new home for premium games, offering both current and future partners the expertise of the Koch Media Group alongside a new and dynamic team dedicated to maximizing their true potential,” said Koch Media’s CEO Klemens Kundratitz. “The core of the video games industry is, of course, entertainment. Prime Matter will constantly look to innovate and inspire players across all its activities while retaining the fundamental values of what makes our industry so special – it’s intrinsically fun.”

Some big names are part of this announcement. They’ll be publishing PAYDAY 3, the latest in the PAYDAY franchise from Starbreeze Studios.

Developers at Blackbird Interactive will be bringing a new game in the Crossfire series as well in Crossfire: Legion. This time it will be an RTS with a unique take on futuristic warfare.

Gungrave will return to gaming as well as Gungrave G.O.R.E. from South Korean studio IGGYMOB.

King’s Bounty 2, developed by 1C Entertainment, is a sequel to the RPG Strategy classic which is due out for PC and consoles on August 24th, 2021.

Perhaps the biggest announcement is the reveal of a new Painkiller title. The series hasn’t been seen since Painkiller Hell & Damnation in 2012 so fans will be excited. The only details provided are that the game is in development but we’ll hopefully have more soon.

The Switch will be getting a big new release as well. Kingdom Come Deliverance is already available on most other platforms but it is officially coming to Nintendo Switch as well.

Prime Matter revealed original titles as well. Scars Above is a sci-fi action adventure game featuring a protagonist surviving in a nightmare world. Reikon Games, developers of RUINER, are making a first person shooter where you play a cybernetic Valkyrie titled Codename Final Form.

Other titles include The Chant from Canadian studio Brass Token, Echoes Of The End from Icelandic studio Myrkur Games, The Last Oricru from Czech team GoldKnights, Dolmen from the Brazilian developers at Massive Work Studio, Encased from Russian team Dark Crystal Games. It definitely feels like Prime Matter are scouring the globe for interesting games.

Which titles from Red Matter interest you? A few of them have definitely grabbed my attention. Check out the trailer for Final Form below.

Andrew has been writing about video games for nearly twenty years, contributing to publications such as DarkStation, Games Are Fun, and the E-mpire Ltd. network. He enjoys most genres but is always pulled back to classic RPG's, with his favorite games ever including Suikoden II, Panzer Dragoon Saga, and Phantasy Star IV. Don't worry though, he thinks new games are cool too, with more recent favorites like Hades, Rocket League, and Splatoon 2 stealing hundreds of hours of his life. When he isn't playing games he's often watching classic movies, catching a basketball game, or reading the first twenty pages of a book before getting busy and forgetting about it.
