Sonic The Hedgehog Stream Announced For Thursday

Celebrate Sonic’s 30th Anniversary In Style

Sega have been awfully quiet about Sonic this year. That’s extra true with 2021 being the 30 year anniversary of the blue blur’s first appearance.

That changed today as Sega have announced a Sonic stream for this Thursday morning. Things will kick off at 9:00 AM PT / 12:00 PM ET. While details of what they plan to show off are currently slim, they have promised a first look at “upcoming projects, partnerships, and events”.

As one of the most popular characters in gaming, Sonic is certainly deserving of a celebration for his anniversary. We’ll be standing by to provide details on any new announcements. You can watch the announcement for yourself on either Youtube or Twitch. For now you can watch a brand new video celebrating 30 years of Sonic below.

Andrew Thornton
Andrew has been writing about video games for nearly twenty years, contributing to publications such as DarkStation, Games Are Fun, and the E-mpire Ltd. network. He enjoys most genres but is always pulled back to classic RPG's, with his favorite games ever including Suikoden II, Panzer Dragoon Saga, and Phantasy Star IV. Don't worry though, he thinks new games are cool too, with more recent favorites like Hades, Rocket League, and Splatoon 2 stealing hundreds of hours of his life. When he isn't playing games he's often watching classic movies, catching a basketball game, or reading the first twenty pages of a book before getting busy and forgetting about it.
