Watch the game’s protagonists battle a belligerent bean in the latest trailer for Pocky & Rocky Reshrined
It’s been a couple of months since we last saw Pocky & Rocky: Reshrined. Thankfully, the game’s developer, Tengo Project, recently put out a new trailer offering a fresh look at this revived retro romp’s shoot-’em-up gameplay.
Like Wild Guns Reloaded before it, NatsumeAtari certainly looks to be putting an awful lot of effort into making this release feel as true to its inspiration as possible. The latest footage showcases a portion of the game’s first stage while showcasing its revamped visuals, eclectic cast of enemies, and frantic co-op gameplay. The last segment of the trailer showcases the first boss, Zuzu, who fires volleys of beans like machinegun fire at the player.
Check out the latest trailer below:
Developed by Tengo Project, the team behind the original game, Pocky & Rocky: Reshrined is an updated version of Natsume’s 1992 SNES title. The game stars Pocky, a Shinto shrine maiden, and her companion, Rocky the raccoon, as the duo fight hordes of baddies to rescue creatures known as the Nopino Goblins. The game is currently in development for the PS4 and Switch. While no concrete release date has been announced, NatsumeAtari plans to release the title this Fall.
Publisher NatsumeAtari released a gameplay teaser trailer for the game in March. If you happened to miss it, that’s OK. You can give it a watch here.
As a big fan of the KiKi KaiKai series, I can’t wait to get my grubby mitts on this updated port when it arrives on the PS4 and Switch later this year. What about you? Are you looking forward to experiencing Pocky & Rocky: Reshrined? If so, which platform will you be playing it on? Be sure to sound off in the comments below and let us know.
