The Basement is Calling
Edmund McMillen has put his trademark spin on TTRPGs in The Binding of Isaac: Four Souls tabletop game. It was successfully crowdfunded a while back, but now it has a expansion coming. That expansion is called Requiem, and it launches on Kickstarter on June 1st.
If you’re not familiar with the Four Souls game, you might want to check out these details:
Created in conjunction with Maestro Media and Studio71 Games, Requiem is a massive expansion to the successful Four Souls tabletop card game that McMillen originally released in 2018, based on his popular Binding of Isaac video games. The expansion adds over 200 new cards to the Four Souls experience, including new “Room” cards that alter gameplay with global modifiers.
The Kickstarter campaign will offer multiple tiers with different rewards, including Isaac-related figurines, plush figures, apparel and more. Among the most desirable rewards is a treasure chest that can hold over 1,000 cards in protective sleeves; it comes with multiple surprise goodies in addition to the new card expansion set. McMillen promises that the campaign will offer “something for everyone”—even entry-level backers can choose to add on merchandise from the higher tiers.
Fans who sign up with their email address here and commit to making a pledge now will receive two exclusive Four Souls bonus cards when they back the project in June.
Fans of The Binding of Isaac who love board games definitely should check out Four Souls. And be sure to tune in early next month to help back the Requiem expansion.
