No Tricks, I Promise…

Nintendo Download | Press A to Party

Well guys, you know what day it is. The Nintendo Download for 4/1/21, AKA the April Fools Nintendo Download. But I promise no tricks in this feature. Pinky swear! That said, you can expect the usual goodies this week, including a ton of space-themed games. In addition, there’s some promotions, sales and digital fun. Let’s start with some Star Wars on your Switch.

Hunting Fools in Space

Nintendo Download | Star Wars Republic Commando

STAR WARS Republic Commando is a game that has you use your squad as your weapon. So if you love the Star Wars universe and want to hunt and kill some alien commandos, this is for you. If you prefer something with a bit of humor, you might prefer the antics of Breathedge. It’s a game where you use tape to make new structures and have a ton of customization options. Lastly, something that doesn’t take place in the depths of the stars, but still looks fun. That’s none other than Knockout City. Play epic dodgeball battles with style to spare. Now, let’s continue this Nintendo Download with some promotions.

DLC:

  • In Space, No One Can Hear You Scheme – A free update has landed for Among Us, the winner of The Game Awards’ Best Multiplayer Game in 2020. The Airship is the latest and largest map, featuring new tasks, the ability to pick the room you start in, ladders and more. Play with 4-10 players online as you attempt to prepare your spaceship for departure. But beware – one or more random players among the Crew are Impostors!

Activities:

  • An Excillant Choice, My Liege – You can unlock an endless array of exciting abilities with one of the many jobs on offer in the BRAVELY DEFAULT II game for Nintendo Switch. With so many jobs to obtain in-game, this quiz may help you get an idea about which job might match your personality. Anyone with a Nintendo Account can redeem this My Nintendo reward for free. Plus, two new Heroes of Light desktop wallpapers are available as well. Light up your screen with these artful displays to keep your adventurous spirit high!

So Many Bullets

Nintendo Download | Squad Killer

Now, while there technically are a couple special sales starting this week, they’re both pretty barebones. So instead, I’ll just focus on the usual Game Guide sales. My thrifty friends should start with these. You can get Legends of Ethernal half off for $9.99. If you prefer a crazy take on Metal Slug, then get ready to Bite the Bullet for $7.49. For a puzzle game with a twist, I’d recommend REZ PLZ, especially for only $7.49. Or for Wild West rogue, try Colt Canyon for $7.49. Finally, for an incredible tribute to classic run and gun, you need Blazing Chrome. Especially since it’s currently $6.79.

Total Knockout

Nintendo Download | Knockout City

How about something more pricey? For a fun looking card game, try Signs of the Sojourner for $15.99. Or for a promising platformer, try Blue Fire, also for $15.99. To roll the dice on a good time, you need Dicey Dungeons for $10.04. For craziness with crustaceans, try Fight Crab for $14.99. And lastly, for a trip down memory lane, try Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, half off at $19.99. Not a bad selection, but let’s close out this Nintendo Download with some fun digital fare.

Get Bushwacked

Nintendo Download | TY the Tasmanian Tiger 2

For retro adjacent, try these – Arcade Archives SWIMMER, Good Knight, Knight, Press “A” to Party, Squad Killer and Stick Fight: The Game. If you have the need for speed, try Street Racing: Tokyo Rush. Strategy fans should check out A Long Way Down and Dungeon and Puzzles. For narrative-based adventures, try El Hijo – A Wild West Tale, Lost Words: Beyond the Page and Scandal in the Spotlight. You can enjoy some old school platforming with TY the Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue. And for something unique, try What Comes After.

Little Boy Lost

Nintendo Download | El Hijo

No joke, that was a pretty hefty Nintendo Download. Thanks as always for joining us here at HPP, and be sure to tune in next week.
