Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster Gets New Story Trailer

Regardless of your path, it won’t be easy

Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster Story Trailer

If you ask me, the upcoming release of the SMT Nocturne remake doesn’t need any help at all sustaining an incredible amount of hype. But, just to make sure that nothing dies down anyway, ATLUS decided to treat us all to a brand-new Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster story trailer.

Fittingly titled “The World’s Rebirth Trailer,” this minute-long video gives prospective players glimpses of the many world-changing events that are sure to come when they dive into the HD Remaster themselves and shows off plenty of the game’s characters—both human and demon alike! Naturally, in true SMT fashion, the whole thing’s very cryptic and foreboding, but, hey, I wouldn’t really have it any other way at this point. And it’s not like you couldn’t find out what it all meant if you really wanted to.

Curious as to what makes this remake so special and missed all of the other announcements so far? No worries, dear reader, we’ve got you covered. For the most part, HD Remaster is exactly that—a gussied up version of its PS2 counterpart. That’s not everything that this game has to offer, though; keep on reading for the full list of changes.

  • Remastered 3D models and backgrounds
  • Additional difficulty settings for players of all skill levels
    • Including an easier difficulty level MERCIFUL as free DLC
  • Suspend save – save your progress whenever you need!
  • Voiced audio – choose between Japanese and English VO
  • An alternate branch featuring Raidou Kuzunoha
  • Fixes and patches implemented since the Japan release

Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster is slated to release physically and digitally on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, and digitally on PC via Steam. Starting out with nothing more than a Game Boy and a copy of Donkey Kong Land, Kenny has happily been gaming for almost his entire life. Easily-excitable and a bit on the chatty side, Kenny has always been eager to share gaming-related thoughts, opinions, and news with others and has been doing so on Hey Poor Player since 2014 and has previously worked with both PKMNcast and SCATcast. Although his taste in gaming spreads across a wide number of companies and consoles, Kenny holds a particular fondness for Nintendo handheld consoles. He is also very proud of his amiibo collection. You can also find him on Twitter @SuperBayleef talking about video games and general nonsense. Some of his favorite games include Tetris Attack, Pokémon Black Version 2, The World Ends With You, Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, Yo-kai Watch, Donkey Kong Country 2, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, Kirby's Dreamland 3, Mega Man X, and Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia (among many others).
