What’s In Store This Time?

Nintendo Download | Tales From the Borderlands

Well folks, you know what day it is. Which means it’s time for the latest Nintendo Download! There’s several featured titles this week, as well as a couple special publisher sales. And of course, there’s also the usual sales and digital games for everybody to enjoy. So let’s get started with a popular series making the Switch.

Get Outta My Garden!

Nintendo Download | Plants vs. Zombies Battle For Neighborville CE

I’m a fan of Plants vs. Zombies, but I tend to prefer the grid based strategy version. Today we’re getting a massive 3D overhaul in Battle for Neighborville Complete Edition. As this is the Switch version, there’s silly touch control options. You can also play with friends or foes in massive multiplayer assaults. If nothing else, it still has that zany aesthetic the series is known and loved for. Next up, if you want to cook up some fun, there’s Overcooked! All You Can Eat. This remastered remix of the first two games has a ton to devour, and even some new content to whet your appetite. If you’re more of a narrative adventure fan, then you can rejoice about Tales from the Borderlands coming to Switch. Lastly, if you want to farm to your heart’s content, then you might love Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town. Up next is a special anniversary for a popular series.

  • Anniversary Crossing – It’s been one year since we all boarded Dodo Airlines and made that exciting voyage to our new island homes in Animal Crossing: New Horizons on Nintendo Switch. Just in time for the game’s anniversary, a free update drops for the game today which adds a variety of features. With an expansion of 50 additional custom design slots to both the Normal and Pro Custom Design modes, you can let your imagination run wild! And for some April Fool’s Day fun, whoopee cushions can be ordered between March 26 and April 1 from the in-game Nook Shopping service. If you’re in the mood for something more elegant, you can prep for prom season with themed fashion items at the Able Sisters shop from April 1 to April 30. Be sure to check your in-game mailbox after today’s update for a 1st Anniversary gift, too. Here’s wishing you many more blissful days of relaxing island fun!

Earlier in the Nintendo Download I promised some publisher sales, and now I’ll deliver. They come courtesy of Capcom and Ubisoft, and both last until the end of the month. First up, let’s see what Capcom has to offer. Here’s what I consider to be the highlights. Devil May Cry 1-3, Mega Man 11, the various Mega Man Legacy Collections, Okami HD, Shinsekai Into the Depths and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy. As for Ubisoft, they also have many worthy contenders, but here’s the highlights: Immortals Fenyx Rising, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, Scott Pilgrim Complete Edition, Starlink: Battle for Atlas and Valiant Hearts: The Great War. Nintendo Download | Signs of the Sojourner

We’re almost finished, but we can’t end a Nintendo Download without digital goodies. For retro adjacent, there’s Arcade Archives THUNDER DRAGON and Gun Skaters. Those that enjoy co-op play should check these out – Dark Water: Slime Invader and Magic Twins. To play some games with strategy, try DARQ Complete Edition, Infectra and Signs of the Sojourner. For frenetic action, look no further than Explosionade DX and Uchu Shinshuchu. And I hope you love narrative adventures, cause we have an absolute ton this week – Fantasy Tavern Sextet -Vol.3 Postlude Days-, Fatum Betula, Later Alligator, Root Film and Synergia.
