Genie Fans Can Now Boogie on Stadia
Today’s news is very exciting for my fellow fans of Shantae. While it’s true the series is available for a variety of consoles and platforms, today Shantae breathes rarified air. WayForward has brought a double dose of Shantae fun to Stadia. Specifically, Shantae Half-Genie Hero Ultimate Edition and Risky’s Revenge – Director’s Cut. For those eager to try them, keep in mind there’s a price difference. Half-Genie is $29.99 and Risky’s Revenge is $9.99. Though that may seem a big difference, keep in mind that the former is a much more content rich experience, with a plethora of DLC included.
If you’re somehow not familiar with either of these games, please read the PR blurb for a quick run-down below.
Shantae: Half-Genie Hero Ultimate Edition lets players join Shantae on her first HD adventure as she travels Sequin Land to stop numerous criminal capers masterminded by some of her most dangerous foes. This all-inclusive version also features numerous additional modes that let players take control of the villainous Risky Boots in Pirate Queen’s Quest, switch between Shantae’s allies Sky, Bolo, and Rottytops in Friends to the End, utilize alternate costumes and abilities in Beach Mode, Ninja Mode, and Officer Mode, and more.
Shantae: Risky’s Revenge – Director’s Cut, meanwhile, is an upgraded version of the second game in the Shantae series, which initially launched in 2010. As Shantae, the Half-Genie heroine, players must scour the countryside to find the three Magic Seals that can thwart her archenemy, the dastardly lady pirate Risky Boots. Shantae’s mission will take her to a variety of environments (including deserts, forests, and undersea caverns) where she’ll learn numerous abilities, encounter outlandish NPCs, and confront the sinister Barons of Sequin Land.
I recommend both games, especially if you haven’t played them yet. Be sure to stay tuned to HPP for more genie news in the future!
