Tactical Greatness Awaits
There were a lot of great games shown in today’s Nintendo Direct. But the one that has me drooling (just a little) was from Square Enix. It’s currently titled Project Triangle Strategy. Much like with Octopath Traveler, I’m sure the name will change in due time. But what’s most important is that the footage shown off today looks really deep, complex and fascinating.
Project Triangle Strategy takes place on the continent of Norzelia, a place of deep conflict and old hatreds. Wars have been fought in the past over scarce mineral deposits, and now those tempers are flaring into a new conflagration once more. Project Triangle Strategy features tons of deep combat options, including Follow-Up and Coordinated attacks. Likewise, height plays a tactical role, allowing better range and more devastating strategies. You’ll also make key decisions that have lasting consequences, even on who you can and cannot recruit to your cause.
It may be early, but I’m already quite excited about this latest project from Square Enix. If you’re eager to see firsthand what the game is all about, you’re in luck. You can check out the demo on the eShop today. Now for the long wait until the anticipated release window of 2022…
